hm.
my initial reaction was “dUh isn't it obvious?” :)
now i'm actually thinking about it, seriously, i'm going to need to explain in examples, n stuff.
bear with me while i go through a few obvious ones, and work up to some more esoteric ones, ok?

1) turn the ignition key in your car.  there's energy in the form of petroleum fuel.  it burns.  it gets “used”.  it is “transformed” into “movement”.  in classical physics terminology, “potential” energy is turned into “kinetic” energy.

exactly what you _do_ with the car - what you “use” it for - is entirely up to you.

2) go to a night club or a bar.  dress in your best clubbin gear, your best perfume/aftershave.  groove to some beats.  the “movement” - the “energy” - should, if you're smiling and having a good time, “attract” some nice bird / bloke.

you've “used” energy to achieve something.  lots of pheromones got released, too, which helps.

hurrah!

3) think some thoughts.  they make things happen (in your body and in the external world).  energy in one form is “transformed” into energy of another form.

look up eckart tolle's “the power of now”, “a new earth” and also go to oprah.com download the free webcasts of oprah and eckart's book class.

and go watch “the secret” !!!!!

haha thanks for the insight….i was actually interested in more of the specifics.  I wanted to know if she was talking about energy bodywork.  I've checked out Eckhart Tolle…good stuff.

to help with balance i would suggest a classic New Age grounding….

all you  really do is visualize or feel roots extending from your feet going deep into the ground and rooting you firmly down, taking all the bad energy with it like a drain, and then draw in like a well, good clean energy in, vitalizing and restoring you!
it doesnt have to be an hour long process….. or any funky wierd positions….

one wat ot use energy is to make a energy ball… cup your hands or something like that and feel energy gathering there from your source…. the source can be from anywhere…… and if you get good enough, one can see it with their normal eyes…..

im a reiki master and have been using universal energy for 5 years and i can tell you this its truely amazing !!! the potential we have as human beings is fantastic if were only open to it ! Rei-ki is a japenese discipline and the word Rei means (universal) and Ki means (energy) and its an ability thats latent in all of us, we just have to wont to be initiated into it …tobe actually physically able to feel energy flowing from your palm chakras is a wonderful thing !!!

I can often see energy. I had a funny experience watching my mum and a few of her elderly friends doing Qigong. There was energy flying off their hands (and other places). It was rather funny. Needless to say I have not returned to do another Qigong class with my mum and her friends, lest I giggle and be disruptive. But I can attest to it's benefits energetically.

i once was very good at energy work! i was very young and didnt quit grasp what i had, so teenage years came, school, work, boyfriends. now i cant channel what i had and i would be very interseted in advice to relearn what i was told was a gift. any advice?

This is an interesting question.  

Progress is like a spiral.  You can never “wind back the clock”.  You can, however return the same place, albeit at a different level of maturity, wisdom, experience, etc.

Best guess here - trying simplifying your life and looking at the small things first - those moments when you seem to be in touch with life purpose and energy.   You may find that it never really  left you.

I guess I would say that we don't actually 'use' the energy, we simply allow it to flow through us consciously.
