A couple/three of long-lived bugs

1Vector3 said Jul 15, 12:59 PM:

OK, I am making time to call or re-call attention to some bugs I am aware of.

1. I don't know how many times (6? 7?) I have tried to change the email address for some of my Gaia newsletter subscriptions, and the changes just don't “take.” This might be related to #2. (All the email address options are alive and well and valid and functional even within the newsletter subscription system, because my various subs are delivered across the spectrum !!)

2. After I make changes in the email addresses for newsletter subscriptions, and click on Save at the bottom of the page, the page does seem to refresh, but the next page displayed is the same one, with the Save button still active. It's a mite boggling, as one doesn't know whether one's request has been registered or not. Clicking Save a second time results in a third display of the same thing, with the Save button still active.

3. When I choose the reply link in my emailed Notification of a message to my Gaia internal email, and send the reply, the Message Sent notice is displayed at the top of whoever was the last person whose profile I visited, not the person I sent the message to. This is HIGHLY disconcerting. When I go to my Sent Mail to double-check, it's always correct, but the display of Message Sent on the wrong profile really needs to be fixed – please !!!

In appreciation and awe,
OM Bastet

Can you give me the URL you're at when you try numbers 1 & 2.  I think I know where you're talking about, but I'm not finding the same issue.  You're using Firefox 3.0, right?

Regarding 3, yep that's an annoyance I'd like to see fixed soon.  It should just take you back to your mail page, IMO.  I'll take a look at that and see what we can do to fix/change it.

Alright, I put a fix in for #3.  It ought to be live some time next week.

Woo hooo !!! This is encouraging progress !!!

I am here: http://adliac.gaia.com/subscriptions/campaign_subscriptions and I just tried it again, and clicking on update at the bottom results in NO change in the addresses, even though I changed some of them before clicking Update.

I use IE7, the latest whatever. Apparently Microsoft sneaks into my living room in the middle of the night sometimes to have a cozy rendezvous with my computer (Sarah by name) and they produce little updated thingys…..

Thanks a huge bunch, ~Matthew.

I will now peruse my list to see what other bugs I have noted. I wonder if the jumping page when tagging books lower down on the page ever got worked on. But that's an improvement, not a real bug. I posted about it a loooong time ago and have not rechecked the matter.

Alright, I was able to duplicate this is IE7.  I've written a ticket and passed it along the developers.

Feedback from last night trial re the newletter subscriptions:

I changed some of the email addresses, and when I clicked on Update, a message did appear at the top of the page to the effect that updates had been done. Hooray !!!!

However, two things I regard as problematical:

The same page was displayed, with the same apparently live “update” link at the bottom. This still doesn't make sense and is confusing. [I did not verify it was live; it appeared so.]

A much more problematical thing is that I have more newsletter subs than can be displayed on one page. Used to be, when I clicked on update for changes on the first page, at least the second page was then displayed. Now, no second page appears. Thus I am effectively cut off from making any changes to the newsletter subs that appear on that page.

I did scroll down to see whether there was a page 1 page 2 option, and didn't find one. Maybe I didn't scroll far enough? Maybe this is a new glitch from the fix?

Thanks for listening !!!

Blessings, OM Bastet

Hi OM,

The message that appears at the top is the important thing.  If you decide you want to change your e-mail address on a different subscription, then taking you back to the same page with a live button at the bottom should be the most convenient.  And all the subscriptions should be on one page.  I have about fifty different ones, and they're all on one page for me, too.
