PHOTOS

~Matthew, et. al:

What makes a photo uploaded in Gaia have its own URL address?  Sometimes when you click on the photo, it will be enlarge and just hovers above the page where the background is dimmed.  But this icon of mine right now which is a picture of the Golden Gate Bridge that I took myself, when I click on it, it has its own URL address.  What makes it so for both incidents?
curious,
Samme

P.S.  Please do not forget Jason's request in this folder too with the thread title Gaia Plus.
Thank you!

Hi Samme,

Every photo has it's own URL (or address).  That's what allows it so you can copy/paste it to other places on the web.  The html pulls from its location and reproduces the image.  The “lightbox” effect you're referring to is something our developers added with AJAX.  When that doesn't work, and it just takes you to the photo's URL instead, it means something went (most likely temporarily) haywire.  Try refreshing the page and clicking the photo again!
