Marketing Our Businesses on Gaia

I have just been reading the post on getting businesses posted on the marketplace. I wanted to revisit one particular issue.

I have two online businesses.  I have clients all over the world.  The more integrated we become within ourselves the more our business merges with our personal life and the more it is not possible to be out there in the world without expressing that business.  I don't work at being a (whatever)   I just am.  It's me expressing myself.    It's not about marketing, it's about sharing myself with others.

I appreciate the “local” angle of the Marketplace and that's really fantastic. 

However, not all of us live in LA or even in the US.  (And if I'm ever in LA I'll know exactly where to look to find what I'm after!  Lots of great organic cafes I'd love to go to.)  I feel that this is something different to that.

As someone else said on that thread, loads of us have small businesses and this site is a great place to let others know about them.  A lot of them are cyber-based.  The more we use each others services the more prosperous each of us becomes and with more money the more we use each others services and the more prosperous we  become and the more …….  you get the idea.  Let's really get on with supporting each other.

There's always the problem of people who “over-use' the system, but that is no reason for the rest of us to stand back.

I've got images, links and information about both my businesses in my profile.  How about a separate tab that includes some info about what we do?  I don't agree with sending unsolicited messages within gaia as an excuse to introduce a business.  But if it's there on the profile and people are active within the community it's going to work for them.

So many of us offer information and products that are really useful to our community I think it would be a blessing for people to see what we all do.

It would also allow us to more easily connect with others who have similar interest and make business associations.

I am a shy and quiet person, so it is kind of hard for me to “toot my own horn” when it comes to my talents and what I have to offer to this world. I have given away so much of myself without pay, but I never really knew my self-worth. Being on Gaia and reading through people's personal and business pages have given me the courage to start my own wellness business, a business combining my artistic, philosophic, and yogic approaches to all of life. I really would like to educate other people who are not aware of the benefits of living a conscious life, and I think that Gaia can further help people like me and business owners to create a conscious capitalism model.

I think it'll help if you realize, D of Z, that you're giving something that some out there, are looking for, and are willing and able to pay for. Not something that you're thrusting on the world, but something that you are providing. Not tooting your horn; but informing them that it is available.

That's how the flow of money can start moving into conscious capitalism.
And I'm saying this; as a lot of your story strikes chords in mine!
