If we *did* have a “knee-jerk reaction” option, it could go to a specific section of the site, where all such reactions could live, rather than on the actual thread.

Okay this is kind of brilliant. I'm imagining a 'vent' option that just renders the 'comment' invisible, or plunks it directly into the Gaia-Shadow...

I was already weeping from gaining two new friends yesterday. You know how that always gets to me .... ; - ]

If that hadn't met your end objective, all the heartsick certainly would have polished off the requirement...

Why, it is turqoise with some subtle hints of yellow, of course!

All!

I just wanted to pop in and say that I do read each of these and that I love the creativity and curiosity of so many of them. It's important to me that the questions that get sent out in the Q&Rs stay relatively positive and forward-thinking and uplifting or supportive (it feels to me that it's easy to hear "what's wrong with the world" in day to day conversation) and that they're fairly introspective, too (I do get curious about what everyone's eaten for breakfast, and have thought about doing a Q&R series that was a little more Q and a little less R, but for this particular incarnation I like those best that push for a bit of a deeper discovering). So if your question hasn't appeared, that's likely been the reason... :)

I've just started a Question and Reflection Group, though, where you can pop in and post your own questions, and answer those that others have posed. Please pop by and check it out, and if you've already proposed a question here, I'd be fabulously grateful if you came and contributed it over there as well.

Hello all you beautiful inquisitive questioning seekers!

It's been over a year since the first Q&R was posed to the site, and, at long last, we've gone ahead and created an entire Group dedicated to the Questions and Reflections. Instead of waiting each day to see our daily query, you can wade through an abundance of community-contributed questions. You can post your own, and respond to others, and play about in boards with different varieties of questions and replies. I'm excited to see how it'll grow.

Ladybear: But of course! This isn't meant to substitute for the Q&Rs, which are blog posts and operate a little differently. It's just meant to be a play-space and container for those of us who are question-addicts. :) The dailies will still keep coming, though. I haven't seemed to run out yet.

jeepdog: Goodness. There's another good idea; I hadn't thought to put in a 'nomination' area in that Group. I'd thought instead it'd be a good place for rich questions that might differ a bit from the usual Q&R, and give a chance to get more out there so people don't need to wait months for the ones they offer to show up in the queue.

I wish you were here to see my Monty Burns impression, though.

OM: I think that Silliness is not a position, but a Spirit that goes bounding in and out of all of us, and thus could not be vanquished no matter what happens. (And actually, I think there are hundreds of such spirits zipping around the site, and they come up in different people and speak in different voices at different times. But that's just my own private way of understanding flareups and altercations and healings and hugs...)

That said, I do like the title. I really, really like the title. And I can think of a quite a few times in the past when a Director of Silliness would have come in handy. Remember the Seed saga? Can you imagine if we could have called upon the Court Jester to come and tease everyone back into sanity? How fabulous would it be if every time a heated situation came up in the world we could bring out the Silliness Brigade to cheekily tickle some sense into people?
