This pod is for people who want to work with their Shadow aspects. I am just learning myself, so I welcome anyone who knows more than me to share their experience, strength and hope (to borrow a phrase). I strongly believe that if one is to attain more Spiritual power and fullness, one must learn to embrace the “lower and base” aspects of humanness first. Otherwise, the neglected parts of our souls will anchor us down and the objects of our spiritual quests will forever elude us. “Arthur and the Land are One!” The www naturally lends itself to projection of Shadow. It takes no skill to actually do projection. It is unlikely that anyone exists who can abstain from it. The skill comes in when one wants to understand it and work with it intentionally. First, it takes a certain amount of cognitive ability to see your projections after the fact. Then it takes not just ability, but agility to catch yourself in the act. Then it takes alot of patience and courage to talk about it with compassionate friends while in the moment. My intent here is to create such a compassionate community of people who are willing to watch themselves - and also watch you - project while holding the space open with compassion and love for both themselves and others. As we grow stronger in our ability to acknowledge the feelings and impulses of our Shadowed aspects, we contract into anger, fear and hurt less and we can become more conscious and fully functioning human beings. At this point there will be less resistance to fuller spiritual attainment by any hidden aspects of the self. So I don't just want to talk about this work. Most importantly, I want to create a sacred space where we can actually DO IT! LIVE! So bring your nightmares, your persistent thorns-in-the-side, your pet-peeves, your monsters and your enemies and prepare yourself to embrace them. Right here. Right now. But wait! There's more!! On the Nature of Shadow Projections In Forums …and… The Road Rules for Forum Interaction at I-I. I'd like to borrow it. I'll start a thread on it too, so you can tell me what you think. [Future in-depth Study follows…] I am currently (as of November '06-February '07) reading “Integral Spirituality” as well, and am starting to understand more and more about the Quadrants and how they will relate. I am formally challenging Ken Wilber to explore the possibility that the next step of “complexification of gross form” (see Apendix II, pg. 228) is the union of the lower Quadrants or the “We Space” and you are now looking directly at the necessary layer of our collective exterior brain that can generate the field where we can make the leap. I believe this is the next shift of 1st Person.I believe that the exterior brain for the collective corresponds roughly with the exterior brain for the individual as follows: Reptillian Brain Stem - Signals, Pokes and Grunts Limbic System - Language Neocortex - Internet Complex Neocortex - ??? ! I haven't read this yet, but I want to. It may have some Level/Line Fallacy and Pre/Trans Fallacy goin' on, but it looks inneresting. All that to say that Shadow is not only in the Individual, but also the Collective. Postmodern Epistemology is like Collective Shadow Work. It is going back (non-Pre/Trans Fallacy) into our collective past and retrieving that which we have disowned (Level/Line Fallacy), and bringing it with us back to the present to grow it into more mature, healthy, non-pathological forms. This work has both interior and exterior representation. That's what I think. It's okay if others think differently, we get to explore that and not repress that. —–oOo—–
