In the tradition of our big and crazy gatherings, we are hosting a Holiday Gift Fair of fairly traded goods on Sunday Dec. 16 from 1:00-6:00 pm at the yoga studio "Yoga On Beacon" 3013 Beacon Ave. S (206) 324-YOGA (9642).

Come do your holiday shopping and help raise money to provide medical services in Burma. We will be selling beautiful bamboo housewares from Vietnam (similar to what is sold at WholeFoods, but at a much more affordable price!), vegetable dyed (no lead!) wooden toys from India, jewelry and handicrafts made by Tibetan Nuns- feel good about your purchases!

As most of y'all know, Burma Humanitarian Mission is something I am personally invested in as I volunteered last year. BHM provides funds for backpacker medics of the Mae Tao Clinic on the Thailand-Burma border who provide medical services to over 170,000 people living inside Burma with no access to health care. http://www.burmamission.org/

Starting in January 2009, shoppers will have the option of either bringing their own bags to the store, or paying 20 cents per disposable bag to tote their goods.
