This idea I have been sharing in the greater MindSpace for some time, the idea of intangilbe Divinely graced form of currency for which to begin to acknowledge as a future form of currency.

There is lot's happening out in the world in this regard, though I would like to include all that works, learn from all that doesn't work, and create a focus for a Zaadz currency.

The idea of calling this currency a Blessing is, well, pretty cool me thinks.
I'd like to start with a spelling discussion, although labor is correct, the canadian version is labour. I know my comment is off track but it was the first thing that caught my eye.

Back to the germane discussion, sacred labour means to me, sacred with respect to being true to one's self and one's goals. Engaging in labour with heart and integrity and without judgement. Only with the above is our labour truly sacred.

Sacred labour is being genuine and open to all that life offers.

Magpie

we've traded emails about just how wonderful i find these two words together: sacredlabor -- wow!

too often, labor is delegated to a mean, grimy, socially under-valued place in the scheme of things. sweaty, cheap, untouchable labor.

but there is no greater gift that any one of us brings to life than all our everyday, ordinary labors -- whether we are cleaning our toilets, or writing an illuminating book , or whatever our "work" may be.

"work," in the popular imagination, too often lacks any sense of the sacred. yet that is exactly what so much of the work that all of us engage is -- it is a sacred giving and receiving. it is life giving to life.

i'd guess that if we engaged and entered in to our every toil with more of this respect, and if we, ourselves, and others received this giving with more of this kind of honoring, the world would more easily reveal itself as the sacred place it is.

it is all (or could better be understood as) what the hindus describe as prasad [kindness, grace, offering].

thank you, sl.

Hmmm, what a deliciously curious, juicy and intriguing question, Scott. And probably one for which there is no 'one' answer.

Three symbols come to mind for me, that evoke a deep sense of Truth (rather than 'the truth' that can easily be articulated through the words we have available). The 3 symbols are:

the spiral

the fractal

the Hubble photograph of deep space (which includes both spiral and fractal)

I think for me these evoke the sense of awe, beauty, a sense of perpetual flow, of a deep intelligence, creativity and connection that weaves through all.

Thanks for the chance to reconnect with these.

Sincerely,

Jamie

Re: Universal symbol for Truth

Truth is infinite and can standalone because it is complete in itself. Truth is the only real reflection of nature and the end of all meditation. It is above excuses and reason. It is eternal, bold, transparent, unchangeable, and the most powerful lifeline of the universe. Mark Twain says, “Truth is the most valuable thing we have. Let us economize it”.

In the zone of a truthful person, there is no fear of death because there is no past and future in their action. Their true involvement in the present is a wonderful lesson for the entire human race to master all the basic invisible laws of human happiness. Such a state of mind always witnesses an upward elevation, a state that is not bound by human selfishness.

Where there is truth there will be peace and where there is peace there will be infinite happiness. This is an absolute law of nature and no human being can change it. Sri Krishna says, “The wise who are the knower of Truth will instruct you in wisdom”.

One may agree or disagree, like or dislike, accept or reject, approve or disapprove, but it will not count in the zone of truth. This is because we are living in a world without an iota of universal concern. At the same time, when something untoward happens to us, all of us talk as though we are the philosophers of Truth. Nevertheless…

One may talk of mercy, but that is a blatant lie.

One may talk of love, but that is just selfish desire.

One may talk of non-violence, but that is fear in disguise.

One may talk of Truth, but that is convenient commerce.

One cannot understand the omnipresent character of Truth without understanding the omnipresent character of the untruth. We have been the slaves of the known - but the known is the slave of ego, and ego is the slave of the identity crisis. Lying has its roots in identity crisis and the profit motive of selfish growth. It also has roots in the zone of false prestige and fear. Untruth germinates from ego, envy and superstition.

Without understanding root cause and the very source of lie, it is impossible to master the universal nature of Truth. Only when 'lie' disappears, Truth and happiness follows. Even enlightenment is fruitless until one frees oneself from the zone of lie. The power of Truth merges with a person when he or she becomes free from all forms of lies or untruths.

Off course, lie is as universal as the truth, but as dark as the night.

M. K. Gandhi's comment on Love, God and Truth

I would say for those who say God is love. God is love. But deep down in my heart God may be love, but God is Truth. If it possible for the human tongue to give the fullest description of God, for myself I have come to the conclusion that God is Truth. But two years ago I want a step further and said Truth is God. You will see the fine distinction between the two statements: God is Truth and Truth is God. And that conclusion I came after a continuous relentless search after Truth, which began so many years ago. I found that the nearest approach the Truth is love. But I found also that love has many meanings and human love in sense of passion becomes a degraded thing, but never found a double meaning in connection with Truth and not even the atheist have denied the necessity or power of Truth. And because of their reasoning that I saw that I was not going to say "God is Truth" but "Truth is God" the great difficulty that millions have taken the name of God and committed a nameless atrocities in the name of God. If you swim on the blossom of Truth, you must reduce yourself to a zero. Further than I may not tonight go along this fascinating Truth.

(Note: I am not calling M. K. Gandhi as Mahatma because he himself requested the world to not to call him as Mahatma)
