Hi … I'm Ladee (yeah, really … that's my name ;) ) … I came into contact with Toltec concepts about 12 years ago through the works of Carlos Casteneda, Florinda Donna & Tasha Abelar. Years later, when Don Miguel Ruiz came out with The Four Agreements, I was thrilled to see the wisdom of the ancients being brought into light for more folks to assimilate and grow.

Since then, I've barely picked up a book to read about Path … it's just something I *am* and do … I “do my best” to walk my talk and experience what it is to seek freedom and  “fly past the eagle” and achieve cohesion with my Double. These are all topics and aspects I'd love to share with folks and see how we each travel this Path.

Oy. That was really stilted and not my normal style of writing, but it's a weird hour of the day for me … so I'll let it sit as is …. for now.

Anyway …. looking forward to sharing …

when i was in college my hippy english teacher gave us some books to read. i chose the journey to ixtlan. i fell in love with that book. the thing about carlos and his books. i really didnt understood the lessons from don juan.i understood mentally only. sometimes years went by and my enrgy body finally understood the teachings . those books open me up to infinte possiblities. finding my hands never worked for me. i had to repeat  'im dreaming now control it”  .i did the power plant thing until i became too sensitive and had to give them up.

i only met 2 naguals so far .at the pyramids and at a state park and both times i had a chance to speak to them about the warriors path but i froze and chikened out

the four agreement are some of most simple ideas but so difficult to master. (to me at least)

It's a New Year

GypsyLadee said Jan 3, 2007, 12:59 PM:

This'll probably be a bunch of random thoughts strung together … but, then, I use posting here as a way to process my own stuff and if others get somethin' from it, yay … otherwise, I've done some personal work and I'm good to keep going forward.

I must be a winter person or something. Seems like most of my major turn-arounds in life happen around the New Year. So, rather than being an arbitrary date on a calendar, it's an opportuanity for me to (re)evaluate where I've been and where I'm going. Since around TurkeyDay, I've been looking at that mirrored reflection I'm so fond of and feeling an intense amount of gratitude. Simultaneously, I've hit on some profound epiphanies (is that redundant?) about some work I need to do to eliminate or process or assimilate or to which I need to surrender.

I ended up spending about 10 hours on the phone with a close friend/witchy crone yesterday, pondering the mysteries of this thing I call my life. Looking at the things I react to … people sending me letters with pointy fingers, recalling relationships that are long past, but with which I still seem to maintain a nagging connection, reactions to forum posts where I'm inclined to respond, but realize that my words would be rhetoric, rather than experience. And exploring what they all have in common. It's the mirror thing again.

What am I (not) doing, being?

Comparing this year to last and realizing that it would appear that I've been somnambulating through this year, compared to exponetial growth in the previous … and defeating the judge in all that and silencing the ID. I am where I'm “supposed” to be. All's right with the world (presuming I continue to Walk my Path).

If I were “into” the belief systems of numerology and/or astrology, it would appear that all *kinds* of things are lining up to manifest. Yeeha. 'Bout time. And looking retrospectively at those times in my life when my three-pronged approach to manifesting worked. And, one of the things I'm stepping into is how to be in a space where I'm present enough to know that when I set a clear intent, follow through with an act of will and then release my expectations, I can (and do) create.

Amazing stuff. And Fun. And humbling. And powerful.

So, to begin this new “year” .. I …

- Walk this Path … not skirt it, not drift along, WALK
- Keep peeling that onion of belief systems that keep me from Freedom
- ACT in the present, BE here NOW … stop being reflective
- Seduce my Double, you little witch :)
- Walk in gratitude
And wish ALL of you a safe, fun and dream-fulfilled New Year ……

toltec teachings are new to me.  i read the four agreements only a few months ago, followed by the mastery of love, both recommended to me by a friend.  to say that i was changed by them sounds like an understatement to me….

true i have only just begun and there is so much more to learn, but i do my best and that is all i should expect myself to do.  it is very hard to put away the old ways of doing things.  hard to remember everyday in every situation, and stop being my own judge and punisher.  but oh how i try!

i am very happy to see this pod!  i am going right now to read some more posts, how very exciting!  thank you for inviting me!

Hello, my name is Jerry Nutt, and now is my journey. I read “The Four Agreements” about a year ago, because a friend suggested it. I remember the book struck me with its truth. Since reading it, I have slept. (ha) I usually re-read the books that have struck a chord in me. I have read many books since then, and listed it on my favorite books because that chord still vibrated, although the exact content escapes me. I'm excited that you invited me to re-open, and learn the truths on this path of enlightenment. IT's all good! Thanks for your positive energy, Ladee.             Love and Peace,                    jerry

G'day, from a jaguar.

I walk many ways as I move onward and upward on my path. My journeys across this planet have led me to many ancient paths of enlightenment and wisdom.

I find that if I focus on the Four Agreements through the course of my day and breathe them into my being, so I am the four Agreements, I  soar, and am free to live who I am - global, blissful transformation.

I trip, stumble, fall, hurt myself sometimes. I reach out for the Four Agreements as soon as I have dusted myself off to continue,,,,,

Hi all!

I quite literally stumbled upon 'The Four Agreements' at a used book store on my lunch hour once. I didn't even want to go, but my lunch partner insisted. Some things just come into your life right when you need them, I guess, because I read that book and it really changed my whole perspective.

Since then I've read other works by don Miguel, Carlos C., and a female author who's name I can't recall at the moment. I can't even remember the names of some of the books. I saw don Miguel speak and got to meet him a few years ago. I was so impressed by his presence.

Anyway, regardless of the books I've read about the Toltec ways, and all the other books of self improvement, self discovery, spiritual paths and so on that have come into my life; I always fall back on the Four Agreements as the foundation for my actions and choices. That book really did change my life.

Anna, I agree, the Four Agreements is one of the most important and powerful books that I have read. I use the principles from it everyday. I haven't read another book that offers such a simple workable way for personal transformation. :)

Hey all!

I'm Anna and I've been learning the Toltec ways for about 7 years. I stumbled across The Four Agreements in a used book store and was compelled to read it. Needless to say, it changed my life. A few years later he came to speak at a local venue. What an amazing experience.

I've tried to live with the four agreements to the best of my ability. It's not always easy, but trying is the key. In recent months, I've found that the path my life has been on is not one with heart and I've been working hard to hcange that.

On a side note, I recently finished reading The Voice of Knowledge and found it to be the catalyst of another life-altering experience.

So nice to be here with all of you and I look forward to our interractions.

Peace,
A

Ah, well, The Voice of Knowledge - if you haven't read it - is about that voice in your head that's always 'sharing' its wisdumb with us. Yes, I meant wisdumb. It stops us from doing, makes us do, tells us what we are, what we aren't….you know the one, right? It's that dumb little voice we all hear in our heads from time to time.

That book gave me such a great insight into my own little voice that I'm learning to succeed in shutting it down and listen to my heart and my soul instead. I'm learning that what I need can't be dictated to me from the 'judge' in my head because she is basing all her judgements on the illusions she has been taught. I… well, I know better! What will ultimately keep me on a path with heart is NOT that judge in my head. She will only keep me on the path that of illusion and falsehood. She will only say things to me that keep me locked into the illusion.

I find myself saying things from my heart more often.
I am able to manifest my heart's desires
I feel altered in the way I build relationships and my experiences
My integrity speaks more to me now
Before The Four Agreements, and before The Voice of Knowledge, I was one of the sheep trapped in the illusion.
Now, I am aware and I am working a way out rather than feeding into it.

peace,
Anna

Ah, yes … this is what we 'fondly' call the Internal Dialogue (ID) and something we'll chat more about here at RtD. It's full of stories that cloud or mask our inner vision and illusions based on someone else's story.

Welcome!

Thanks Anna,
your post was right on. the wisdumb.

I use a few tools for the gossip in my mind.
i listen for silence under all the chatter.
and the oppsite I listen to hear as many sounds as i can

I ask myself what does my body say?
or what does the heart say?

what tools do others use?
what works for you?

Hi,
when I was 16 (1970), I met Carlos at the CIA.  No, not that CIA, California Institute of the Arts.  To the best of my recollection he was on a lecture circuit discussing his newest book “A Separate Reality”.  At that time my english was so inadequate that I really couldn't follow what was being said, in the lecture or the book.
4 years later I unsuccessfully attempted suicide and a month or so later read “Journey to Ixtlan”.  To say that that experience changed my life is somewhat of an understatement.  The world hasn't been the same since.
I mean, even when I strayed off the path with heart (and did I ever stray!) the world was no longer the same, and yet nothing had changed.  About 4 years ago I suddenly acquired ruthlessness.  What a relief!
So here I am, sitting here writing a little about myself, with my death watching me, and I'm content - because I know what I'm waiting for.
Ladee, thanks so much for the invite to “RtD”.

Hi Everybody!

My name is Monika and I was invited to join this Pod. Thank you. Thank you!!! This came in the time when I am learning to embrace and live my freedom and I am so grateful for inspiration and encouragement. I was not familiar with Toltec Path, so before joining the Pod I first read the Four Agreements book. I was struck by the clarity and power of it. A very beautiful invitation to live my life in freedom. Simple but not easy! I feel that my life’s focus has become finding and expressing my truest self, the light that is all us. It is joy and pain. Various practices that I have been doing like Zen and yoga are all paths to live a more sincere life and Toltec Wisdom is another one. It is awesome that all this is available for us so readily. I am happy to be joing you!

Blessings and love to All

I have heard of his books for awhile, Ruiz's, but was always skeptical. Then i started reading paulo coelho. then i received a mini-book called “Wisdom from the mastery of Love” and that hooked me. went to the bookstore the same day and bought all the books they had by ruiz (all four that they had…) that was yesterday. = )
