  Phoenix : Seeker of Truth

A Love Revealed

Phoenix said Sep 11, 2007, 12:36 PM:

This is my first post here.

I wrote this poem just recently.

Picture it as a conversation going between two lovers.

Enjoy! ~Phoenix

A Love Revealed
Can you hear me?
Can you see me?
Are you truly
looking at me?

I can hear you,
I can see you,
And I think I
truly love you.

If you love me,
tell me softly.
Hold me gently,
kiss me lightly.

If I love you,
I'll say it sweetly,
kiss you tenderly,
hold you tightly.

If you leave me,
I will crumble;
I will shatter as
the pieces tumble.

I won't leave you,
please don't fear.
You are my light,
my life, my dear.

Will you catch me,
help me, hide me,
be my strength,
and light to guide me?

I will catch you,
help you, guide you,
but there's no need
for me to hide you.

You surround me,
envelope me,
engulf me, make me
feel safe and sound.

You're who I've wanted,
needed, dreamt of,
waited for all my life;
to you, I am bound.

You are my
soul, my blood,
my life, and my
closest friend.

I will love you,
honor and
cherish you,
until the very end.

This is such a sweet poem. I had to share it with my best friend who is getting married within the week. It captures perfectly the feelings and questions that run through a close relationship. Beautifully written.

I have found that a marriage based on love alone starts out on very shaky ground. Love is so volatile and yet so necessary. It's an emotion and emotions can become destructive. That's the nature of emotions. But when you marry a friend, who becomes your lover, somehow it seems more stable. I've had many lovers in my life who walked into and out of me, gone forever. But a friend? I have said some things to friends and after a while it was forgotten, and we were friends again. Some words, when said to a lover, are never forgotten or forgiven.

So I say Long Live Friendship in Love and Love in Friendship.

Your poem was so tender and I feel that it was glued together with friendship. May its bonds remain strong.
