Help Request: Can't add links to profile page

Hi everyone.  I just finished reading Chaos' instructions for adding links and other things to our profile pages.  I copied the link to the post and tried to add it to my profile as a text link (like he has on his profile) and then clicked “update.”  What came out was the whole code (including the < a href > part), and now I'm stumped.

I'd really appreciate some help with this.  I'd like to add direct links to various help topics here so that when other new Zaadzers join, they can instantly access these helpful threads. I just joined last night, and while I've figured out how to do most things here, adding links to my profile page is turning out to be a real challenge…

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
