“No problem can be solved
from the same level of consciousness
that created it. ”
– Albert Einstein
This is a place to share ideas and visions about what the world looks like when everything is as good as it gets.
This is a pod that you can assist simply by becoming a member of it and joining us in asking the universe the question, “How Good Can it Get?”… even if you never make a single post to the discussion list. Simply asking the question makes a positive difference… and as a critical mass of people ask this question, we can definitely transform the world in the most positive ways.
Have you noticed how problems sometimes disappear when you change your point of view? International conflicts, group disputes, family feuds, interpersonal disagreements, internal doubts, and physical illnesses can all be resolved by changing what and how we observe. Just as the “placebo effect” in medicine and the “observer effect” in quantum physics show us how our thoughts and senses have a powerful effect on the physical world, increasing evidence from current scientific research indicates we can change most any outcome by changing our perceptions.
It's no small coincidence that most history books focus on wars, most games compete for limited resources requiring some players to lose so one player can win, and most currently popular television reality shows follow the “survivor” model. What these frameworks have in common is the “zero-sum” theme, in which people believe that there is only so much land, money, love, success, or _________ (fill in the blank) to go around. People in the zero-sum mindset feel justified for increasing or maintaining competitive conflicts, and have a difficult time genuinely celebrating the successes of others, since if someone else does really well they figure that probably means, “there goes my chance.”
In direct contrast to the zero-sum mindset, positive-sum games are based on the premise that all players gain or suffer together in a situation of expanding opportunity… so it is not only possible for everyone to win more often than not, it is highly probable – especially when people learn ways to better cooperate and collaborate. What areas in your life feel conflicted… and can benefit from a change in perspective?
It’s possible to see new possibilities when we keep our energy and attention focused on the question “How good can it get?“ in a spirit of cooperation, remembering that at some level we are all as One. Knowing that it feels best to do well when we’re all doing well. Understanding that when we change how we feel about what's going on for the better, what we are observing will change for the better.
