def. despair: loss of hope
def. hope: the feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best
What's going on….
Is it that we have to plummit to the depths of despair in order to actually begin to have an understanding of hope? Or is hope already given to all?
Aristotle once said, ”Hope is the dream of the waking man.”
I've had hope all my life… some times I believe it too much; to the point where I think it becomes a handicap…….But, ….I never give it up… I always have hope
I believe that hope is what children/babies survive on, as well as love. But then everyone is let down at some point….. all the way to despair. And we all know despair.
So, why is “Hope the dream of the waking man,” when we already have hope as a born disposition?
Is it something to be reminded of?
And, is despair a born disposition, or is it something learned?
