I felt drawn to create a thread in Water for World Peace dedicated to creating awareness of the power of music. In Dr. Masaru Emoto's latest book “Love Thyself the Messages from Water III” you'll find amazing crystal photographs validating the effect of good music. Imagine its healing potential. As a certified Hado Instructor I implement the messages from water into my being and daily life whilst encouraging and sharing with others here on our path to also listen to messages from water.
The Colors Of Light and The Clouds In The Looking Glass copyright 2006 I connected with Sue Esserwein's channeled healing music through Sharon Stellmach, Sue's sister. I met Sharon through the World Gratitude forum :)) I love it when synchronicity plays out. I have been presenting my Soul Art and Collage workshops at Camp Mak-A-Dream since September of 2000. Spring of 2006 I made the choice to include new age music in my workshop presentations and felt drawn to Sue Esserwein's two newest CDs Colors of Light and Clouds in the Looking Glass. They are available for purchase from Sue's CD BABY site. What I have observed when playing Sue's healing music softly in the background as workshop participants create and visit is they all love them! The first time I played these CDs they shared how relaxed listening to them made them feel. One thing I noticed they didn't want to leave three stayed just visiting through the second session. After playing these CDs for several workshops I soon became aware not only is this music helping participates to relax it frees some to release what needs releasing within their being; with some tears flow as they share their healing steps while others acknowledge their letting go of emotions of anger, fear and guilt. I encourage and look forward to everyone sharing their thoughts on power of music here in Water for World Peace.

Emotion and art go hand and hand, especially in education. Along with promoting the Starfire Artists of Starfire-Muse Studio Productions, I teach English 11 full-time at an urban public high school in Virginia Beach, VA. My students enter the building with a whole host of challenges each day. Most of them are living in single parent households, where very little communication and guidance take place. Situations we take for granted (like sitting down to dinner with the family on any consistent basis or discussing our day with a loved one) simply doesn't occur for these people. Many of my students arrive at school each day feeling alone, frustrated, or angry. Equally important, they often lack the academic skills to achieve success and embarrassed, they attempt to hide this dilemma by “acting out”. ADD/ADHD is a common label for so many of the students, and they use it as an excuse to misbehave or to lack academic progress. Often times the only attention and nurturing they receive is when they are in the classroom. Now although this may appear as a hopeless situation, I can tell you wholeheartedly it is not. |

Well, my goodness, this post was 269 days ago and I just read it. But knowing time is timeless, I'll carry on. |

Andrea you healing music is amazing! All of the ARTS are being used in Therapy now with music therapy becoming more known. ~Music Therapy~ is the use of music to produce a positive change in behavior that endures over time. Music is a medium through which participants can acquire language, learn pro-social behaviors, develop communication skills, improve self-concept, gain or regain a sense of self-control, and express themselves intuitively. Music Therapy is the utilization of music, including listening to it as I do when I present my Soul Art and Collage workshops. It is also and creating music, in a rehabilitative or educational setting, in order to meet specific wellness goals of an individual or group. |
