Birth is a powerful initiation into motherhood, fatherhood and life itself. While we develop inside the womb volumes of information about the outside world are transmited to us and we begin to percieve the world from the point of view of our mother's. This process is called limbic imprinting and plays a crucial role in our growth and development as beings. Our birth experience is our very first introduction to the world outside of the safety of our mother and thus it imprints us with a baseline for safely or danger. It is our first impression of life. As we as parents reclaim the awesome power of childbirth we bless our children with a security of genuine love and gentle welcoming. This imprint will stay with them long after the birthing and lay the foundation for their personalities and perceptions.
