Operation: Kindness
Expressing kindness honestly doesn't require a lot of work and can be done with incredibly simple acts. If you think back over your life at the times when people showed kindness to you - sometimes the most profound things were the simple things. There were also times when someone did something incredible for you and went so far out of their way that you almost (or actually did) cried because of what they had done. Here is a place to list kindness challenges to inspire people to go out and do something to help make this world better. :) |

Ideas and Organizations
Have a crazy idea for something that you wish you could do or that you've seen someone else do? Heard of an organization that is spreading kindness in the world? Share your ideas! If you can't do it, maybe somebody else can, or maybe you'll find that what you thought was a not-so-great idea is actually a fabulous idea and it will soon turn into a challenge to others!

Everyday Gratitude
Has someone done something for you, either on Gaia or in your non-electronic life, that touched your heart? An act of kindness, generosity, or love that you've experienced? Share your stories! Let us know how other people have touched you - it's encouraging! These don't have to be recent stories or anything like that - they can be anything that you have experienced or heard of that shows kindness making its way in the world. :D

The Beauty of it All
Sometimes life itself is kind to us in allowing us to witness beautiful things. This is simply a place to share that beauty. Share poems, song lyrics, pictures, stories - whatever it is that you have found beautiful lately. :) |

I think that there is something that no one could disagree with… and that would be simply that the world could use more kindness. I know that this is not a new idea, and there have probably been other people on Gaia promoting this same thing… but what harm could a little more kindness do?
I hope for this group to not only be an online community showing kindness within its borders, but a launching pad for people to get ideas and spread kindness within their homes, communities, workplaces, schools, etc.
Dictionary.com lists synonyms such as these for its definition of “Kind”: affectionate, benevolent, charitable, compassionate, considerate, courteous, friendly, generous, gentle, good-hearted, gracious, humane, loving, neighborly, sympathetic, tender-hearted, thoughtful, tolerant, understanding … surely our world could use a little dose of this?
